About us

Our Instructors are trained to a high level through Newcastle Blackbelt Academy and Taekwon-do association of England. By regularly attending International Instructor Seminars we ensure that the standard of our teaching is consistent with that taught all over the world. We take safeguarding children very seriously. Our instructors have enhanced disclosures through the Disclosure and Barring Service, and they are renewed every three years. Safety is another very high priority for us. Our instructors all have first aid qualifications, but more importantly we believe in safe training practices and thorough risk assessments to make sure the risk of injury is minimised.

Body and Mind

Taekwon-Do works for the mind as well as the body. Scientific studies show that martial arts practice can improve cognitive function and neurotrophic factors associated with brain health. Specifically, hard martial arts (including Taekwon-do) stimulate the development of cognitive function in children and adolescents, and decelerate cognitive decline in middle-aged and older adults.
